Abstract

The present study evaluates the pharmacological activities of Telescopium telescopium
collected from the mangrove region. The research focuses on assessing antioxidant, anti-
inflammatory, and GC-MS analysis properties of the species.Specimens were collected from
the Punnakayal mangrove region, and tissue extracts were prepared using standard
extraction methods. The biological activities were analyzed through established in vitro
assays. The results demonstrated significant antioxidant activity, indicating the presence of
bioactive compounds capable of scavenging free radicals. The extracts also exhibited
notable anti-inflammatory effects These findings suggest that Telescopium telescopium
possesses potential therapeutic properties and can be considered a promising source of
bioactive compounds for pharmaceutical applications. The study highlights the importance
of mangrove gastropods in drug discovery and provides baseline data for further
pharmacological investigations.
