Abstract

A key component of treating type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM), especially in
individuals with elevated body mass index (BMI), is maintaining effective glycaemic control. This
practical study assesses the effectiveness, safety, and treatment trends of glimepiride and metformin
in Indian patients with type 2 diabetes whose BMI is greater than 23 kg/m².
