Abstract

A field experiment was conducted in the experimental Research Farm of School of Agricultural sciences (SAS), Nagaland University, Medziphema, Nagaland during the period of June to November, 2019 to study on “Response of soybean (Glycine max L. Merrill) to different sources of fertilizers on growth, yield and quality”. The experiment was laid out in Randomized Block Design (RBD) with 12 treatments and 3 replications. The study revealed that the incorporation of different sources of fertilizers significantly influenced the plant growth, yield attributes and quality parameters such as oil and protein content, nutrient uptake and available nutrients in soil after harvest. The crop growth attributes such as plant height, number of leaves plant-1 and number of nodules plant-1 were significantly influenced by its application. The highest seed yield of 2426.82 kg ha-1 and stover yield of 2989.10 kg ha-1 were recorded with the treatment of 100% RDF+MB+FYM and it was found significantly superior over all other treatments. The quality of soybean was improved by 100% RDF+MB+FYM in the presence of different sources of fertilizers. The available soil nutrient, nutrient content and uptake by soybean were recorded to be maximum with the treatment of 100% RDF+MB+FYM.
